IGNITE “TOP RANK”

The 2nd Annual 2011 Bright House Sports Network Ignite Elite Combine in Tampa, FL was a success again.  236 athletes participated in combine testing events, position agility drills, 3 on 3s and 1 on 1s.  But at the end of the day, there could only be 8 “Top Ranks” (1 for each position).  “Top Rank” is awarded to the players that stand above the rest during position agility drills, 3 on 3s and 1 on 1s.  The players are selected by the position coaches who evaluate them throughout the event.

Offense

QB – Jon Economou, Freedom, ‘12

Flash point: Jon threw the ball very well; Strong arm and great timing during 1 on 1s.

WR – Artavis Scott, East Lake, ‘14

Flash point: This is a sign of things to come for Scott.  He is shifty and has great pull away speed.  He caught the ball well and posses great concentration.

TE – Travis Johnson, Jesuit, ‘13

Flash point: Worked at TE and WR and was clearly one of the best at both positions.  With his big frame he was able to out muscle many of the defensive backs.

RB – Dazmond Patterson, Plant City, ‘12

Flash point: Patterson displayed great footwork and vision during position agility drills.  He was difficult to catch in open space and catches the ball great out the backfield.

OL – Keith Weeks, Newsome, ‘12

Flash point: Great size and athleticism. Ran a 4.8 shuttle and displayed great technique during position drills.  Weeks dominated during 1 on 1s.

Defense

DB – Antonio Crawford, Plant, ‘12

Flash point:  Excellent footwork and ball skills.  He was very aggressive and made a few outstanding plays.  Crawford has very loose hips and was solid during 1 on 1s.

LB – Jalen Butler, Plant City, ‘12

Flash point:  Big, strong and agile; did a great job during bag and drop drills.  He has great anticipation and field awareness.

DL – Malcolm Hudson, Hernando, ‘13

Flash point:  Unstoppable during 1 on 1s.  Nuff said!
