Combine speed and quickness. Combine precise routes with sticky hands. Combine all of these things and what do you have? You have the receivers who participated in the 2013 Ignite Elite Showcase Combine.

After going through several skill stations, the receivers laced up their cleats and went to work with the Ignite Combine quarterbacks. Plant City sent a quartet of talented young receivers in Marquis Young, J’Vonne Wilson, Tavares Chase and Landon Galloway. But it was teammate Roderick Burney who brought home the hardware, earning Combine Co-MVP honors for the receiving corps. Sharing the honors was Ridge Community’s electric Codaryl Pandalfo.

Lakewood appears to be reloading with more tall, lanky receivers, with Andrew and Adrian Davis and DarQuez Watson leading the way. Largo’s Reggie Campbell flashed some of the best hands of the Combine, while teammate Raheem Harvey ran some of the sharpest routes of the day. Harmony’s Tristan Reaves showed a sense of toughness well above par for the group.

Sickles’ RayRay McCloud III put the smooth in moves, gliding through his routes with ease, without sacrificing speed. Alex Carswell felt right at home on the Strawberry Crest field, and shows signs of developing into a true D-I prospect. And Warton’s Auden Tate rolled in off the basketball court to show that he’s right at home on the football field as well and could easily develop into Chase Litton’s favorite target next year. Ryan Davis and Tario Fowler (Northest) made several big time catches showing why they will be top targets.

Also showing signs of talent and/or making a play worthy of recognition were Zachary Kligman (Clearwater Central Catholic), Sayff Saed (Freedom, who demonstrated a lot of moxie with his routes), Marquel Hines (Manatee), Shane Dixon (Palm Harbor), Jaylen Pickett (Zephyrhills) and Darian Wright (King).
