Wesley Chapel, FL – Wesley Chapel High School hosted a 7 on 7 round robin event that saw some pretty good competition and talent. Spoto, Tarpon Springs, Gulf, Land O’ Lakes, Wesley Chapel and Pasco participated in the challenge. Each team was scheduled to play 4 games. No tournament, just an event for players to get more work and allow coaches to coach.

Tarpon is loaded. Pappas now has 4 real deal receivers to get the ball to with the addition of Dondre Daley. Once pads go on and Kenny Blanch lines up with Pappas in the backfield, the Sponger offense should be dangerous. Pappas looked as good as ever. Didn’t miss very much and threw some really pretty balls. Best thing about Pappas is that he just goes about his business. Never too excited, never rattled, always level headed. The sponger defense is pretty fast. Some of the guys went two ways, but not every snap.

Land O’ Lakes QB, Ryan Bird has a chance to be the breakout player of the year. The lefty threw the ball well last night, connecting with his speedy receivers in different ways. TE/LB, Jackson Cannon, is an impressive prospect. He and Bird connected several times which seemed like they had been playing together for years. TE, Kent Taylor was absent last night, but Cannon is a player that can attract attention and will free up Taylor.

Spoto is still extremely athletic and Geronimo Allison is a match up problem for any CB in the County. Allison goes 6-3/175 and showed incredible ball skills and hand eye coordination. The best in Spoto’s playbook was taken from the Jefferson Dragons; jump ball to G-Mo! The Spartans match up in man 2 man often because they have the skill guys to do so.

Spoto WR, Geronimo Allison creates some space vs Pasco High CB

Pasco is talented and athletic. Jacob Guy, Pasco QB made some plays last night. He can really be a good college QB, with some coaching. He has size and frame but his mechanics need adjusting. The skill players for Pasco can go.

Wesley Chapel strength may be surprisingly in their skill players. Their slot receivers showed agility and shiftiness. I don’t have a name, but Chapel has a 6-2 ATH that lineup at CB who made some very athletic plays.

I did not see enough of Gulf.
