Chamberlain once was considered one of Tampa’s powerhouse football programs, but after finishing up last year’s season at 2-8-1 the Cheifs program is one that has been slipping futher to the bottom with each passing year. And that has led to the transfer of numerous student-athletes to surrounding schools.
But that may change, now that former Tampa Bay Buccaneers Defensive Lineman Chris Hovan has joined the coaching staff. “I want to bring this program back to what it once was,” said Hovan. ” It needs a boost of energy and I feel I am just the guy for the program.”
