BAY AREA BITES

Here are some football prospects you should know about from Edgewater High School.

2023 RB Cedric Baxter – 6’2” 215 lbs

Baxter is rated as the #2 running back in the country for the class of 2023. The recruiting sites show him with 53 reported offers. He has his pick when it comes to major college football programs. Once you start his film, you quickly see why. For a back of his size, his speed and athleticism is off the charts. He totaled 1,820 yards and 24 touchdowns as a junior. You will certainly be hearing his name quite often next season, and on Saturdays for a few years after that.

2023 TE Camp Magee – 6’6” 210 lbs

Magee is a big target who moves well and has soft hands. He has a frame that will allow him to grow into a great-looking tight end with good speed and athleticism. He makes good adjustments on the football and does a great job of finding the end zone. He has picked up 12 big offers so far with the most recent coming from Maryland in early March. Being a sports star is in his genes. His dad played receiver at Vanderbilt, and his brother played basketball at Wofford. During his junior season, Magee caught 18 passes for 336 yards (18.7 yards per reception) and 6 touchdowns.

2023 QB Chase Carter – 6’ 190 lbs

Carter is a high academic prospect that should start drawing a lot of interest. He currently holds a 4.8 weighted GPA so in addition to the football field, he is a competitor who likes a challenge in the classroom also. He is an obvious target for the Ivy League programs. When you have a running back like Baxter, you don’t really need to throw a ton, so Carter was efficient this season. He threw for 855 yards and 13 touchdowns. He threw zero interceptions so that only supports his keen decision-making ability! On the ground, he used his legs 32 times and gained an additional 114 yards. He has solid pocket presence and a strong arm that he uses to place the ball in spots where only his receivers can get to it. Edgewater played a brutal schedule this season also. One of Carter’s better games came in a 52-49 win over Jones where he threw for 3 touchdowns and 117 yards. I would count on Carter to have a huge senior year.

2024 DL Josh Alexander-Felton – 6’3” 245 lbs

After watching through film on some of Edgewater’s 2024 players, this kid stood out to me. He made some nice plays as a sophomore against some great opponents. He already has good size and will only grow while improving his strength and speed. He had 43 tackles and 6 tackles for loss as a sophomore. The order of the plays on his highlight needs some work, but there are some solid clips in there.
