GAMEDAY CEREAL BOWL – ALL THAT IN LAKELAND?

It’s finally Friday. Someone’s mom called in (not going to work) to get her hair done. We know their are a handful of dads at the meat market buying the tailgate food. Folks forgot about going to work. That’s ok because it’s game day. So let’s get into it.

TOP 5 GAME
Clearwater vs Largo – All the cash is on the table. Both 6-1 and need to win this game or get pushed down to the bottom of the eligible playoff teams in the region.

Lakeland vs Kathleen – Ever been to this game? If you say no…what are you waiting for? Absolutely one of the top rivalry game environments.

Sebring vs Lake Gibson – So many good players on the field, one could get spoiled quickly. This is also for the district title. Likely to be the most entertaining of the five listed.

Auburndale vs Lake Wales – Who saw either of these teams coming in 2017 as they have? Big boy ball with big time players. Hard hitting Hound defense versus the high octane Highlander offense.

Hillsborough vs Armwood – This game just made the cut. Traditionally, The Terriers have trouble with the Hawks. But still a talent rich game which could produce some exciting plays on either side of the ball.

WHAT HAPPENS IN 5A?
Hernando lost to Nature Coast last night on a missed field goal. Now 5A Region 2 could be in a worldwide especially for River Ridge and Wesley Chapel. Both teams were rooting for a Hernando win to provide a better shot a making the playoffs. Hernando will now get a wildcard spot pushing River Ridge and Wesley Chapel down a few notches. That screws up plenty for both teams.

CAN HE DO IT?
Zephyrhills QB Charles Harrison iii has passed for 300 plus yards in two games this season. Can he dice up Hudson for 300 or more yards tonight?

Mitchell RB Mychael Hamilton has rushed for 2 or more touchdowns five of eight games this season. Undefeated Mustangs play Land O’Lakes tonight. Can Hamilton have his first four touchdown performances versus the Gators?

Maxpreps has this young man listed as Young Shaun. Apologies if his name is Shaun Young. However, the Weeki Wachee senior receiver is averaging 81 receiving yards per game with just two games with 100 or more yards. Can he go over 100 yards versus Crystal River tonight?

Blake senior DE Patrick Keenan has 15 sacks this season. Tied for the #1 spot in the state. He and his Yellow Jackets play King tonight. Is it possible for Keenan to tally five sacks tonight and pull his total up to an even 20?
