Fivay stars took center field. 41-31 over Anclote

What looked like a blowout early, Anclote and Fivay tugged at each other late in the game. Four touchdowns were scored between the two teams in the fourth quarter alone. But, Fivay proved too much for the Sharks of Anclote.

The combination of Davion Sutton, 2014 RB; Tyler Degen, 2013 QB and Andrew Meyer, 2013 WR was deadly tonight. Meyer and Degen were like two opposite ends of a magnet.  They could not be separated or stopped from connecting.

Tyler Degen at the half was 11/16 for 269 yards and 3 TD passes. He ended the game 12/23 for 313 yards and 4 TD passes. He was so hot early and threw the ball with confidence. He hooked up with Meyer mid way through the first quarter for 25 yards and didn’t look back.

Andrew Meyer was unstoppable. He consistently slipped begind the Anclote secondary and racked up tons of yards after the catch. Check these receiving yards out: 1Q – 110 yards, 2Q – 70 yards and 4Q – 44 yards. He ended the game with 224 yards receiving, 3 TDs and 8 catches. He averaged an amazing 28 yards per catch last night.

Davion Sutton was the workhorse for the Falcons. When Fivay needed to establish the run early, Sutton carried the team for 87 yards on 16 carries in the first half. When Fivay established a solid lead, it was Sutton who killed the clock and kept the chains moving, racking up 99 yards in the fourth quarter alone. The junior tailback ended the game with 187 yards on 32 carries, averaging nearly 6 yards per rush.

A Willie Barrett, Anclote third quarter TD run, sparked a chain of scoring between both teams. Barrett’s run made the score 27-17 Fivay heading into the final period. Both teams forced each other to punt on their next possession, then sparks started to fly:

Anclote’s Willie Barrett was the brightest spot for the Sharks. Led Anclote in rushing with 11 carries for 77 yards. RB, Trent Crawford rushed 16 times for 69 yards, but had 5 attempts for negative yardage.
