FIU like home for Conyers

Boca Ciega’s Denzel Conyers made a verbal commitment to play collegiate football at Florida International University yesterday.  The 6-2/190lbs safety chose FIU over BCU, New Mexico, Middle Tennessee State, Western Michigan and UCONN.  “I really liked how FIU was family oriented.  It is an upcoming program, not too big and not too small.  Just right!”, states Conyers.  Conyers suffered an ACL injury in the spring and has been rehabing 3 times a week, says recovery is going well.  FIU honored their scholarship offer to Conyers and he repaid them by making a verbal commitment.  Conyers also says it will be nice to be close to his sister who attends the University of Miami and the FIU campus is not too far from home.  Currently, Conyers ranks as the 7th best safety in our coverage area in the latest BCP player rankings.
