Steinbrenner quarterback, Curtis “The Fact” Fitch may not be the most highly recruited or biggest QB name in the Bay Area. But, he doesn’t lack the confidence. The 2014, 5’9”/171lbs gunslinger is excited for the 2011 season and feels that the Warriors are the hunters that can easily become the hunted. Fitch takes a minute to speak with BCP.
BCP: CURTIS FITCH IS MOST DANGEROUS WHEN…?
Fitch: When I am dropping back to pass. I can see the field and make things happen.
BCP: SHOULD STEINBRENNER BE CONSIDERED THE TOP TEAM IN THE 7A-7 DISTRICT (CHAMBERLAIN, FREEDOM, GAITHER, STEINBRENNER, TAMPA BAY TECH., WIREGRASS RANCH)?
Fitch: Yes we should! I feel we can compete and we proved ourselves in the spring game beating Alonso 14-0.
BCP: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PLAY TO CALL IN THE HUDDLE?
Fitch: ‘1 H 2 Down Pass’ we usually have success with this play because me and the WR the ball usually goes to, have a good connection.
BCP: WHERE IS THE STRENGTH OF THE WARRIOR FOOTBALL TEAM THIS YEAR?
Fitch: The offensive line. We are returning the whole line that will all be seniors and have played a lot of football together.
BCP: WHAT IS THE HARDEST PART ABOUT BEING A HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PLAYER?
Fitch: Time Management!
BCP: WHAT IS YOUR BEST CHARACTERISTIC AS A FOOTBALL PLAYER?
Fitch: Toughness! I always want my team to know that I am going to get up when knocked down.
BCP: WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE FORTUNE OR FAME?
Fitch: Fame. Knowing people and having people know me, is more important than money.
BCP: DO YOU FEEL TOO MUCH STOCK IS PUT INTO 7 ON 7?
Fitch: NO! Not really, I enjoy it and how it prepares me.
BCP: WHICH PLAY THAT YOU MADE LAST SEASON, STANDS OUT THE MOST TO YOU?
Fitch: The Game winning touchdown I threw to Tobi Antigua vs East Bay when we were down 20-19.
BCP: WHAT TEAM WOULD YOU LOVE TO PLAY THAT IS NOT ON YOUR SCHEDULE?
Fitch: Wharton. I have a few friends on that team and it would be fun to line up against them.
BCP: IF YOU COULD CHANGE YOUR SCHOOL COLORS (NAVY AND GOLD), WHAT COLORS WOULD THEY BE AND WHY?
Fitch: Red and Black, because they are strong colors.
