RECRUITING

Film Review: Templar, Brunner, Fernandez, O’Gorman and Jones

John Brunner, CCCProspect below submitted film to us for evaluation:

Name: John Templar
Central High
Hernando
2015
OLB 6-1/210
What do we have here? What jumps off the screen is Templar’s instinct and motor. The young man gets after it from the backside, holds his ground on the play side and uses his hands very well when leveraging blockers. Looks to have a nice frame on film and moves pretty well in space. I love the way he plays close to the line of scrimmage; Very confortable in the trenchers and wants to give blows and not take them.

John Brunner
Clearwater Central Catholic
Pinellas

WR/TE 6-2.5/175
Not the guy who will hog the Sports Center Top 10 highlights weekly. But the guy which will catch the football anywhere close to him. On his film, he made several catches that would require a high level of concentration. He runs well and can separate from defenders. Does a really good job using his length to make difficult receptions.

Felipe Fernandez
Plant
Hillsborough
2016
OT 6-5/273
I think we got one here. Each year the Panthers graduate one or two really good or stud offensive linemen. The area of town produces some big boys (It must be in the Bayshore water). Fernandez looks to be another product that has a chance to flourish in the next few years. Big body prospect that could possibly play any position on the offensive line. I love his flexibility and his hand placement.

Shawn O’Gorman
Weeki Wachee
Hernando
2016
RB/SWR 5-8/170
O’Gorman will likely have a bunch of yards this year. Just from the spring game, he played several different positions and his offensive coordinator used him in several different ways in order to get the ball in his hands. Tough runner, quick, a little elusive, but a really good player!

Daniel Jones
Santa Fe Catholic
Polk
2015
RB/WR/DB 5-8/155
Hits the hole fast! Always a good thing for an offensive line, means they will not have to hold their blocks as long. Jones has some sweet feet. Not the fastest RB in the county. But, his footwork gives him more opportunities to evade tacklers and gain more rush yards on the ground.
