AROUND THE STATE RECRUITING

Film evaluation reveals Hernando County potential prospects

Plowing through film this weekend, several players showed promise on film. Below are a few observations.

Trevon Lincoln, Central Hernando OT 2016 6-5 285 – The reason why we attempt to turnover as many stones as possible. Big Trevon is a load. Really love his initial quicks which allow him to come off the ball with force. To be such a large young man, he shows quick feet and swallows defensive linemen. The big man looks very strong. Really good upper and lower body strength. He bends well and moves the piles once he gets going. Will continue to improve his pass protection.

Albon Jones, Central Hernando DE/LB 2016 6-1 210 – His game speed sticks out. The junior LB can key and diagnose plays in an hurry.  Reads and reacts swiftly and, gets a jump on the ball. Absolutely in love with his lateral pursuit. Naturally gets over trash, runs down hill with square shoulders, flips his hips well and can pursue to the sideline.

Devonta’ Smith, Central Hernando RB 2017 5-11 185 – This young man is worth keeping and eye on. Best when he hits the sideline. His outside running ability shows downfield speed, can get to the corner and make cuts in the open field to become a threat to score.
