Field Goal(s) – 3 thoughts on District 2A-4

Teams: Agape Christian Academy, Cornerstone Charter, Foundation Academy, Victory Christian Academy

The more things change, the more they stay the same…
Victory Christian isn’t expected to be the juggernaut they’ve been the last two seasons, but let’s not kid ourselves this team is plenty loaded for another district title run and that’s what we expect from the Storm. This district isn’t a gauntlet by any stretch of the imagination, but VCA will inevitably take it one-week-at-a-time in a district that’s made up of teams that went a combined 7-24 last season and should be properly positioned for the playoffs.

About those teams…
Victory Christian is well-aquainted with Foundation and Agape. They haven’t lost to Foundation Academy since they’ve been in-district and the last time the Storm lost to Agape, or lost any district game for that matter was September 28, 2012 when VCA was defeated 28-12 by the Saints. Agape went 0-10 last season while Foundation finished the runners-up with a 5-6 record. The Ducks of Cornerstone Charter from the Belle Isle area of Orlando are new to the group and finished with a 2-8 record.

Weather “The Storm”…
Victory Christian certainly has added some beef to the run-up to district play which should make their district feel like a scrimmage by the time it’s all-said-and-done. They’ll travel to Pasco week one, then host Berkeley Prep in the second week before hitting the road to face a stout Northside Christian squad. They finish the month of September with a home date against Admiral Farragut and then head up to Jacksonville to face Duval Charter. They’ll also face Cardinal Mooney and Father Lopez from the Daytona Beach area that has some talented players on it roster later on in the season.
