If approved by the Board, the two-year classification cycle would begin with the 2019-20 school year.
- The proposed new classification structure would reduce the following sports to six classes plus rural (rural would not be affected): baseball, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls soccer, softball and girls volleyball.
- Districts would remain, but schools would not be required to play regular-season district contests.
- Following the regular season, there would be required district tournaments seeded by MaxPreps rankings.
