FHSAA ANNOUNCES FINALISTS FOR “NAME THE TRADITION” CONTEST
New Name for FHSAA Football State Championships Down to Five
GAINESVILLE, FL (5/10/16) – After more than 425 submissions from diehard football fans across the Sunshine State, the Florida High School Athletic Association announced Tuesday the five finalists for its “Name the Tradition” contest, a three‐week long promotion where fans will rename the football state championships. The five finalists are as follows:
Five Finalists
- Drive to December
- Gridiron Glory Series
- The Great Eight
- Destination December
- Stairway to State
The submission process for naming the state championships began on FHSAA.org April 25 and ended May 3. From there, the list was narrowed down to the final five by a blue ribbon prep‐ sports media committee.
Fans can vote for their favorite from May 10‐13 on FHSAA.org. The winner will be announced Monday, May 16. To join the conversation on social media, use the hashtags #NameTheTradition and #FHSAA. ###
