E7 QB Notes

Jacob Shade, CCC 2013 QB
Jacob Shade, CCC 2013 QB

The skill players showed their talent and many new names have forced us to follow them. The QBs were the main attraction and did not disappoint. Here are a few additional QB performances to Kyle Bennett’s overall observations posted yesterday.

The QBs
Tyler Kaminski, Palm Harbor 2014
If MVP awards were handed out by classes, Kaminski would have been in the running. The 2014 Hurricane showed developing touch on his passes. Pretty bood timing and solid footwork. His mechanics need more work, but the potential is there for Kaminski to make his own name at PHUH.

Delvonte Cain, Tampa Bay Tech 2015
Just a freshman and has a very strong arm. Short arms his passes right now, but with some work and correction, Can develop into a good prospect. Great size right now and looks like he will sprout 3-4 more inches. Squeezed some tight passes, but will learn what passes to throw in what situation.

Tristan Hyde, Strawberry Crest 2015
Simply put, he can spin it. Will not open eyes with the measurables. Not the tallest or heaviest, but throws a good ball. Understands spacing and showed touch on certain passes. Completed the majority of his balls in 7 on 7 and 1 on 1s.

Trey Vandergift, Strawberry Crest 2014
Vandergrift seems healthy and really showed why excitement has swirled around him since his freshman year. The 2014 Charger has a really sweet release and strong arm. Threw every route and had good footwork. The intermediate routes are his best throws.

Atreyu Farrior, Kathleen 2013
The Polk County QB is raw. His technique needs work. But, what is evident is the zip on his passes . If he gets with a good QB coach to work with his technique, Farrior could be dangerous. Excellent feet and a strong are are tough to find. This kid has both to go along with good accuracy. Can toss the intermediate passes and deep balls.

Dimitri Leverett, Bartow 2014
Arguably to most impressive of all 25 QBs. If he were 2 inches taller, he would be a big time prospect. Has it all: Mechanics, arm strength, accuracy, touch, footwork, etc.

Jacob Shade, Clearwater Central Catholic 2013
Shade’s best pass yesterday was the deep ball. Absolutely displayed really good ball placement on his deep routes. Great ball control and respectable arm strength.

Solid performances from:
Skyler Clark, Armwood 2013
Zac Joslin, Riverview 2015
Zach Stephenson, Durant 2013
Mitchell Norden, Tampa Catholic 2013
