DEVON DENSON waiting his turn

DEVON DENSON
Lakeland 2013 DT
Height: 5 ft – 11 inches
Weight: 240 lbs

One would expect a defensive tackle from Lakeland high to receive plenty of recruiting attention. However, as the surrounding programs get better and the skill of the players improve, it is becoming harder and harder for athletes to receive scholarship offers.

This is the case for Devon Denson. Though recruiting has not taken off as he would like it, he has stayed hopeful. We took the time for a question and answer with the 2013 DT.

BCP: Are you starting to enjoy the recruiting process?
DENSON: Yea, I mean I’m not very highly recruited. I’m looking for help with that.

BCP: What schools are showing the strongest interest?
DENSON: I was talking to a couple of colleges. The Citadel heavy for a while but not since the summer. A little with FIU.

BCP: Do you have a dream school and why?
DENSON: Yes, Georgia Southern. I think it’s a great fit for me for my major and the program is awesome.

BCP: What makes you a solid prospect?
DENSON: My skills of leadership and determined to be the best and my intensity for the game is outstanding. I know I may be a little undersized but my experience and technique should show them something.

BCP: What factors will be considered when pick a schools
DENSON: No major factors. I’m looking to leave the state to a good D1AA or God willing, D1. I’m looking for a four year home and like I said earlier, not to many schools are after me and if you seen my film like I know you [BCP] did, that can change.
