Devan Barrett, 2017 RB, Tampa Catholic – The number one ranked prospect on our Fire Prospect Rankings 1.2 certainly had a year in 2015. On a team that was (and still is) absolutely stocked with athletes, Barrett leaped out of the fog to amass 1,891 yards on 187 carries – averaging 10.1 yards per carry. Every time he touched the ball, he was a danger to go for a first down, and he will be a major factor in defensive planning.

Barrett totaled 21 touchdowns in 2015, and will try to replicate that performance again. Out of the backfield, he had 218 receiving yards on 14 receptions, and he’s been very impressive in the 7-on-7 play.

Barrett has more than a few offers from Power Five schools, and most recently, he’s visited Auburn and North Carolina. Auburn was the college for his teammate, Nate Craig-Myers earlier this year, but will it be the destination for Barrett too? Watch for Barrett to have another fantastic year for TC.
