Cowboys grab Bulls by the horns: 22-0

Gaither RB 11Friday equals rain these days. Not much different last night at Wiregrass Ranch. On Military Appreciation Night, The home Bulls hosted district opponent, Gaither Cowboys. Gaither opened up with a great initial 80 yard drive, which was topped off with a BCP Boot Camp performer Corey Hobson 25 yard field goal. Gaither took an early 3-0 lead at the 7:43 mark.

Gaither RB, Alex Rodriguez added to the Cowboy scoring with a 7 yard TD run extending the lead to 9-0 with fewer than 4 mins to play in the first quarter. Both teams turned the ball over before the end of the quarter and then Mother Nature would get the biggest score of the night. Lightning in the area caused a lengthy game delay at in the second quarter with 5:52 left.

Once the game resumed, both teams went into a short 7-minute half time, Gaither still leading 9-0. The second half was full of penalties and sloppy play by both teams. The score remained the same until Javon Hammond caught a deep ball on the Gaither sideline for a TD catch. At the end of the 3rd quarter, Gaither led 16-0.

Shane Bucenell was the only true offensive threat for Wiregrass Ranch. He played both QB and RB in the wing-T offense which Gaither stuffed pretty much all game. Malik Huff finished the game with an 80-yard TD run to give Gaither the Final score Cowboys 22 Wiregrass 0. Gaither improves to 4-2 (1-1) and Wiregrass falls to 2-3 (1-1).
