Cougars starting to gel upfront

Right now, these Durant offensive linemen look to be firing on all cylinders. What most people don’t know: The offensive line has an average GPA, 4.55. The average size is 6 foot 3 inches and 273 pounds. That is pretty big for a high school football offensive line.

Some standouts: Alex Wood is the heart and soul of our offense and has accepted and loves when they line NGs up in front of him. He is really good at getting to the second level and still giving the guard a hand. He had a great game against Plant City. He has 6.17 GPA, goes both ways at center and DT and has no interest from any Ivy league schools or similar institutions.

Then there is the right tackle that has been starting since his freshman year. Nicholas Insley may not be the big massive offensive lineman at 6-3/240lbs, but he plays like he is a 300 pounder and is very nasty. He still has one more year and is looking very promising each game.

Dalton Wilkerson, has been getting better and better, week to week. This is his first true varsity season and is a first year starter. He could be a good sleeper for somebody that wants to take a chance.

Cody Martin (Animal) he could become special! Simple!

Chris Powell, has been playing defensive line since he was a freshman and now moved to the right side of the ball and is getting better and better every week as he becomes more familiar with offensive line. He has shown some very promising talent, still learning fundamentals.

Last, but definitely not least “Hammer” Jamarlon Hamilton. Not only can he run the rock, he is a very good blocker that accounts for a lot of Chris “Lighting” Atkins success.

Durant has something special going there and it’s should be a fun ride.
