Mason Cole, East Lake 2014 OT has blown up since starting his freshman year for the Eagles at left tackle. He has grown as a leader, worked hard to get stronger and is steadily improving as a football player.

He is now 6-5 and 266 pounds. Cole has the most upside of the 2014 offensive linemen class in Tampa Bay, has all the tools and is starting to show it! Currently he holds verbal offers from NC State, UCF, Stanford, USC, Indiana, Cincinnati, Ohio State, South Alabama, South Florida and Florida State. Is Cole enjoying the whole recruiting process, “Yes I’m really enjoying this process… I’m just blessed to be given this opportunity and staying humble”.

With all the schools showing attention to the 6-5/266 lbs, Cole says nationally ranked University of Southern California, Michigan, and Notre Dame are showing the strongest interest. None of these schools are a dream school for Cole. He says, “I’ve never really had a dream school, just one dream”.  East Lake is focused on winning each game, each week, with a long term goal of winning a state championship. Teams stand in their way, but the Eagles can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Outside of his size and ability, Cole is a solid prospect for a few reasons: technique and aggressiveness. Two things that are a “Must” when playing such a position. He is averaging 6 pancakes per game and says that the major factors will be overall opportunity at that school the “At home” feeling while at the school.

Cole has the opportunity to be one of the most sought after prospects in Pinellas County. Only time will tell.
