Clearwater Central Catholic will face St. Petersburg Catholic for the second time this season tomorrow night. CCC won the first meeting 35-14, but this time the season is on the line. Here are some of the senior prospects who have been impact players for both teams all year.
Connor Dorris, Clearwater Central Cath. LB
61 solo tackles, second on the team in total tackles (107), 6 TFLs and 3 interceptions. Big Body and physical. True inside LB who packs a bunch when he brings it. Runs very well and more athletic than expected.
Ethan Thompson, Clearwater Central Cath. OLB
53 solo tackles, 94 total tackles, 2 sacks and 1 interception. Very versatile player who plays with a chip on his shoulder. Under recruited, but very much a good prospect. Can be an inside or outside backer. Runs well enough to play in the secondary as a box safety.
Blake Gomez, Clearwater Central Cath. DQB
245 All purpose yards, 242 yards passing, and unselfish player who has the good of the team as a top priority. He can throw, he can run and the right fit in a college program, he could thrive.
Kyle Brittain, Clearwater Central Cath. OLB
63 solo tackles, 107 total tackles, 6 TFLs, 3 INTs – Leads the team in solo and total tackles. High football IQ and good ball skills. Has been super valuable to the CCC defense the last 2 seasons and this year he has thrived.
Elevisi Halapio, St. Petersburg Catholic DE
41 total tackles, 13 sacks, I interception, 2 caused fumbles, 9 tackles for loss. Plays big in big games and hard to block off the edge. Uses his hands well and has a good get off.
Markqus Ruppell, St. Petersburg Catholic WR
20 catches, 272 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD, 25 solo tackles and 2 INTs. Good football player with length and athleticism. Good speed and change of direction. Could be a steal for a college program looking for a possession receiver.
Chris White, St. Petersburg Catholic CB
17 catches, 236 receiving yards, 3 receiving TDs, 575 all-purpose yards, 19 solo tackles, 3 INTs. One of the more “Can do it all” prospects in Pinellas County. Aggressive player with really good speed and hands. Likes to be in Man-2-man situations. Not afraid of the big moment.
