Chris Griffin, Wakulla OT could surge

Chris Griffin, Wakulla 2013 OT is a verbal commit to Georgia Tech. This 6-6/275lbs monster is a dominate player that swallows defensive linemen. Before he verbally committed to GT, he held 15 verbal offers which included Clemson, South Carolina, Vanderbilt and Louisville.

As dominant as he is, it was not reported that Florida, Florida State and Miami offered Griffin. Who knows what the situation was or how many lineman each school had verbally committed. The fact is, this kid can play and at the major BCS level. On the flip side, South Florida and Central Florida did offer Griffin. The Bulls and the Knights have done a great job thus far, grabbing verbal commits from lineman prospects and saw the potential in Chris Griffin to help their team.

Is Griffin just not Big Three material or are there other factors that prevented UF, FSU and Miami not to extend an offer to the senior Wakulla offensive tackle? Maybe a bit of both. You know how it goes, nothing is final until National Signing Day. Griffin’s 2012 hilites could be a big factor in other schools trying to make a move on him late. Even if he is a verbal commit.
