POLK COUNTY RECRUITING

Cherry to play in Under Armour Game and reach self set goals.

Earlier this summer, Frostproof 2015 LB, Cecil Cherry verbally committed to the University of Tennessee. Some family ties, community history, opportunity and program outlook prompted Cherry to pledge to the SEC program.

Even though the recruiting process will not stop for Cherry, he admits to enjoying it prior to his commitment. “It was wonderful and all I got to do now is keep my grades up and pass ACT.”

Last season, Cecil totaled 58 solo tackles and 96 total tackles. 10 solo tackles in back to back games vs Tenoroc and Lakeland Christian. This season he has lofty goals he would like to achieve, “To lead the county, my team and my district in tackles and be a team leader on and off the field.”

Cherry wants to improve his speed and get stronger. He also tells BCP that he has been invited to play in the 2015 Under Armour All American Game and he tentatively has decided to participate.
