Charleston staff drops recruit because of tweets

As social media has grown, the lack of awareness among users has, too.

Many kids have no filter with their social media postss, and while they may think only friends are paying attention, anyone can see a public Twitter profile.

University of Charleston defensive line coach / recruiting coordinator David Hill drew a lot of responses when he recently tweeted that the staff stopped recruiting a player because of his Twitter posts.

“We dropped a recruit this past week because of his twitter. We were ready to offer him until we saw some of the things he posted,” Hill wrote.
