Ask yourself, “When is the last time Armwood didn’t have a certified stud?” The guy that is going to be attract all the college coaches to Seffner. Wasn’t that long ago when Armwood had a team with 6-8 Division 1 prospects on the same team. A college coach’s dream. Matt Jones, Alvin Bailey, Kyle Gibson, Eric Striker, Jordan Griffin, Darryl Richardson, Cameron Dees, Cody Waldrop, Jarvis McCall, Josh Grady Leon McQuay, Sheldon Lewison and most recently Byron Cowart (to name a few) all overlaped over that last 5 years. Who is next? That’s the question.
Darian McNeal, Armwood, slot 2017 5-9/160 – The front runner for the team playmaker at several different positions. Expect McNeal to align at slot, wide receiver, quarterback and running back to get the ball as much as possible without allow the defense to get a jump on him. By allowing him to roam and align a different positions, he will be that more effective.
Trevor Laurent, Armwood, slot 2016 5-10/165 – Trevor Laurent is back at Armwood after unfortunate circumstances forced him south for his junior season. Now the promising junior returns and should have some personal loafty goals to achieve. Laurent will provide a sure handed receiver and an additional playmaker opposite of McNeal.
Erin Collins, Armwood, RB 2017 5-10/160 – Collins is another interesting young prospect with nice size and ability. His spring reps will be crucial sharing them with Brain Snead. Lower body strength will be huge for this young prospect.
Kevin Richardson, Armwood, OT 2016 6-4/290 – Start the list of Armwood standouts and linemen will have a large presence. Richardson has a chance to grab the attention of college coaches this spring. His conditioning and gains in the weight room will be a high priority. Likely will move down inside and become an offensive guard prospect. Dominating when he chooses. Consistency is what he lacks at times.
Dedarallo Blue, Armwood, S 2016 5-11/185 – The name will be popular. 5-11 defensive back who has played both corner and safety. Blue is a physical DB with much ability. Keep your ears open for this young man. They may ring often.
Cordell Pimenta Armwood WR 2016 6-1 175 – We like this young man more than college coaches do right now. We hope his recruitment picks up traction. Smooth, possession receiver with good hands and runs routes well. 700 yard season coming? It can happen. Armwood will air the ball out and several receivers will have the opportunity to post solid numbers. If his production matches his ability…recruiting will pick up.
Savon Woods, Armwood, DT 2018 6-2/287 – Shhh…This kid is one of our secrets.
Brian Snead, Armwood, RB 2018 5-11/180 – This kid has the upside. He has the frame and strong running style of the best RBs to play at Armwood. Saw early playing time at the varsity level that will do nothing but make him a tad bit hungrier as a young player. If the work ethic is there, the weight room gains come, the classroom is handled, Snead could be a good one!
