Months ago, beginning the 2012 football season, Deon Cain started the football season as the sophomore QB for the Tampa Bay Tech. Titans. A successful sophomore campaign throwing for…

completions – 132
attempts – 245
completion % – .539
passing yards – 1645
TD passes – 10
INTS – 6

…Cain was a BCP E7 Training Camp standout last summer and showed signs of real promise. Here is our E7 evaluations from last summer: Just a freshman and has a very strong arm. Short arms his passes right now, but with some work and correction, Can develop into a good prospect. Great size right now and looks like he will sprout 3-4 more inches. Squeezed some tight passes, but will learn what passes to throw in what situation.

Now standing around 6 foot 3 inches, Cain is becoming more of an “OW” than a QB. He is emerging into an “Offensive Weapon” and college coaches are starting to take notice. As a rising junior, the recruiting attention is starting to come. And even though Cain is a very grounded prospect, he admits he has enjoyed the early attention, “I’m a sophomore and I’m already getting my name out to D1 college coaches.”

“Most of the college coaches say they like my height and strong arm and my athleticism.” Cain is developing and starting to really come into his own. His coaches rave about his ability and even more about his football intelligence. His throwing mechanics are improving and because he is an athlete, teams will have to prepare for him as a running threat.

In recent months, Deon has competed in a few 7 on 7 tournaments showing his throwing accuracy and arm strength. However, he has also shown his versatility as he played receiver and was more than productive in the slot or out wide. “I want to show the scouts that I have matured more than last year and that I’m more of an athlete!” See video below.
