HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY

Brandon interviews 5 from list of 30 for future head football coach

From a list of 30 applicants, the Brandon High administration chopped that lost down to 7 potential coaches to be interviewed. According to BCP sources, 3 former Hillsborough County head coaches made the interview cut. The following coaches were contacted to be interviewed by the Brandon High hiring panel:

Todd Donohoe, former head coach at Strawberry Crest – contacted for interview, but never confirmed for interview time.

Joe Hammond, Bradenton Prep Academy

Mark Kantor, former head coach at Gaither, current assistant coach at Wharton

Ron Johnson, former Armwood and Lakeland assistant coach, current Kathleen assistant coach

Sean Washington, former head coach at Blake, current assistant coach at East Bay

Isaac Anderson, current Armwood assistant coach

Aaron Harris, former assistant coach at Anclote (Pasco)

Sources say that Harris made a very good impression on several members of the hiring panel. He was very motivated, presented a well throughout and realistic plan for success and seem to have the pedigree being a former captain at Penn State playing for coaching legend, Joe Paterno 1996-1999. At Penn State, he quickly emerged as a versatile back with a relentless running style who finished with 1,166 rushing yards, 19 touchdowns.
