There is no exact science to college football recruiting. Really good players get left behind and great players are often overlooked. This may be the case with Jacksonville Bolles 2013 RB, Tee Mitchell.

How does a player with this talent, at this school get overlooked? Well, it happens and not just to Mitchell, but many talented football players across the state.

We took a second to Q&A with the Jacksonville senior:

BCP: WHAT SCHOOLS HAVE YOU VISITED?
MITCHELL: As of now I visited Miami, South Carolina, and The Citadel. I enjoyed all three schools. The coaching staffs were great. Their facilities were nice. Wasn’t much to dislike about any particular school.

BCP: WHAT SCHOOLS ARE SHOWING THE MOST INTEREST?
MITCHELL: As of now, The Citadel and Air Force are showing the most interest. But I’ve received recruiting emails and letters from other schools as well.

BCP: WHATS THE MOST FRUSTRATING PART OF YOUR RECRUITING PROCESS?
MITCHELL: The most frustrating part of recruiting is when coaches say they’re really interested and call but don’t take the next step to offer. And it’s just stressful not knowing where you’re going.

BCP: WHAT’S YOUR MOTIVATION?
MITCHELL: My motivation is my dad. Being an ex-football player who never got a chance to play college ball, it motivates me to try and make it. Also, when I was younger I was diagnosed with a rare disorder and it caused heavy fluid to build up in my knee restricting blood flow. Doctors felt that they may have had to amputate my leg. Things soon worked out and I was back to normal. So I’m just grateful to be able to go out and play everyday.

BCP: WHAT DOES FOOTBALL MEAN TO YOU?
MITCHELL: Football has always been a big part of my life. It has also kept our family close because we all share a common interest and it makes me happy to see them excited to watch me play.

Mitchell is just one of many success stories across the state. He is a young man with a dream and drive to see that dream come true. He has the talent and the skill to become a good college football player. But will a college football program realize that before it is too late? See Mitchell’s 2012 hilites below.
