If you want to talk about Tampa Bay 2013 defensive back prospects, narrow it down to corners, a few common names would come to mind. Vernon Hargreaves (Wharton, UF commit) who blew up prior to his junior season. Shaquill Griffin (Lakewood, UCF commit) who exploded after his junior season. Nate Godwin (Freedom, undecided) who popped this Spring.

No one would mention Demarius Brinson, Boca Ciega 2013 CB. However, everyone would regret not mentioning him in that same conversation.

Prospects who hold early offers and hit the national scene, deserve all the credit they receive. Those who are under the radar, scratch and claw just to get a sniff.

Coaches are about to start sniffing at this young senior stud. Boca Ciega head football coach, Antez Brinson [no relation] says, “He [Demarius Brinson] is the Best corner no one knows about.” At 6-1/180lbs, he can do it all. He has great hands, loose hips, great speed and excellent hand/eye coordination.

“He works very hard. Likes to be challenged and challenges his teammates around him. Every week he asks me ‘Who are you putting me on this week coach’? Gets excited about being challenged. He is a good, humble kid,” says Coach Brinson about Demarius.

Demarius visited a few schools this summer and also performed at a few camps. He was invited to the USF Super Bull this summer where he performed very well according to his head coach. “USF is showing interest, but has a few guys they like a little more and feel like they will get,” said Coach Brinson.

He is currently receiving heavy interest from Minnesota, Western Michigan, South Florida and Youngstown State. Though he does not have a current scholarship offer, that could change very soon after we distribute the video below to our college contacts.

Brinson is a 3.1 GPA student and his coach describes him a “Student of the Game!”
