BAY AREA BITES

Before the new rankings drop, answer me this…

Another exciting week of football that didn’t disappoint. With all the action, a few thoughts crossed my mind that should be taken into consideration before the new ranking drop

ARMWOOD – does Armwood drop? Don’t think so. There is still not a team better than them in our coverage area.

PLANT – great defensive game vs. Jesuit, but not so much vs John Curtis. Two weeks in a row where the offense was not highly productive.

COUNTRYSIDE – Controlled the game vs. #7 ranked East Lake. Is it time for the Cougars to move up a spot?

TAMPA BAY TECH – Wharton completely controlled the game vs King, but TBT only mustered 14 points? King improved and or it was “One of those games for TBT.”

JESUIT – Jesuit has not performed as expected. The defense has been solid, but the offense has scored just 16 points in two games. All points vs. Middleton, who Hillsborough put 38 on.

LARGO – close win game Southeast. Put the hammer down on Pinellas Park this past Friday.

EAST LAKE – Eagles showed dominance in THE SECOND HALF vs. CCC and were handled by Countryside. Well, Countryside is pretty good and are any of the teams below East Lake, better than East Lake?

SICKLES – Lost to Wharton in a close one. But at one point, the Gryphons were down by 14.

PASCO – did what good teams do, beat the teams they are suppose to beat…convincingly

ROBINSON – now Robinson is making a good point. High octane offense vs. Jefferson and excellent defense and special teams vs Dunedin. Point made!

CLEARWATER CEN. CATH – Played well for a half vs. East Lake and smashed their Friday opponent.

HILLSBOROUG – did not play this week, but beat Middleton by 38. Jesuit beat Middleton by 16.

GAITHER – after a shaky preseason classic, Cowboys just keep winning.

LAKEWOOD – Seminole and Blake are not the best teams, shall I say. Doesn’t matter. Spartans have scored 84 points in two games and the defense has not allowed a single point.

WHARTON – 2-0 to start the season. Defeated an underrated King team and the #8 ranked Sickles Gryphons. Keep churning away.

DURANT – Cougars punished Freedom and followed it up by punishing Alonso. Have they made a case to move up?
