Interview with Northeast head football coach, Mike Jalazo. He talks highly about 2014 RB, Keith Harrington.

Keith Harrington is not the biggest RB in Tampa Bay. He is not the most well known prospect in town. He has not won a state championship, played on the big stage or produced huge numbers. But, and a big BUT…Keith is one of the most talented backs in the area. He is super explosive with fantastic down field speed. His lateral movement is second to none and plays with a passion.

Below are quotes from Northeast head football coach, Mike Jalazo talking about his stud running back.

KEITH’S CHARACTER
He is such a great kid. He gets nothing but joy from football and athletics. He’s a kid who does well in the classroom. He is like a 3.3, 3.4 [GPA] student. He loves playing, he loves practicing.

TALENT
The kid is fast. The kid can just flat out run. He picked up offers from Arizona and Indiana in the spring, part due to them seeing the film vs. Countryside where he ran away from their guys. Part, just when you watch this kid play, he works hard every play. He’s got that little bit of extra explosion.

COMPARED TO
He has that kind of vertical leap, that kind of speed. It’s hard to teach speed and it’s hard to teach explosion. From that part of it, he reminds me little bit of Jeremi Powell (2012 Pinellas Park, UF football signee). Completely different types of players. But that explosion…he is just special!

THE PROGRAM
He is one of those kids you build a program around. He has expectations for himself and teammates and knows how to do that in the right way. When he gets frustrated, he gets frustrated with himself. If he runs the wrong route, if he hits the hole wrong, he is the one who wants to go right back to it and show he can do it right.

“He just goes hard and he’s strong. The kid is not the biggest kid, but he is solid muscle.”
