Backs, Backers and Ends Show Their Stuff at Ignite

Film review observations from small skill player 1 on 1 at Ignite

# NAME SCHOOL POSITION CLASS HT WT

TIGHT END
71 TRE’ MCKITTY Tampa Catholic TE 2017 6’4 218 – Earned MVP honors on Sunday. Impressed with his nimbleness and ball skills. Raw ability with much upside. Performed well in the open field and down tight in the Red Zone.
Steven Witchoskey, Durant
119 Steven Witchoskey Durant TE 2017 6’2.5 235 – The name did not ring a bell until the film revealed him consistently making plays. We saw him this past fall during fall camp at Durant and he looked good. At Ignite, he looked great. Strong hands and body control. Caught everything!

84 Garrett Ware Manatee TE 2017 6′.5 190 – Very smooth runner. Very good route runner. Will need to add some weight. But he had a tremendous day catching the football. Made some tough catches with a defender under him or hanging on his back.

123 Tyler Knight Calvary Christian TE 2017 6’4 230 – He made our day and completed the circle of tight ends that shined. We had this kid’s name on our list since is 9th grade season. Saw potential. Now it looks as if this young man has started to grow up. As the event progress, his confidence increased.

97 Austin Eldridge Strawberry Crest TE 2018 6’1 195

RUNNING BACK
26 Shawn O’Gorman Weeki Wachee RB 2016 – RB MVP had a really good day. Returned from the Army All American Underclassman combine much more confident and inspired. Caught the ball extremely well in 1 on 1s and pass protected pretty good versus the LBs.

11 Benjamin Sirmons Lakeland Christian RB 2016 5’7 150 – Defenders are likely still attempting to get a hand on him. So quick and elusive.

24 Artavis Pierce Auburndale RB 2016 5’11 185 – The biggest BCP name of the group and veteran. If there is a BCP event, AP will be there. 1100 yard rusher in 2014 and the improvements have extended past the pads. Improved footwork and balance. Impressed with his growth.

LINEBACKER
274 Decalon Brooks Gaither LB 2017 5’9 190 – The most evident observation, “Well coached!” Has the bloodline and his coaches have done a great job making sure, Decalon understands hand placement and body control. The young LB really improved his footwork and use of hands.

229 Adrian “AJ” Deshazor Lake Gibson LB 2017 5’11.5 185 – LB MVP who we really wanted to see at safety. However, he and Decalon Brooks had the best hips of the bunch. This dude is fast, quick and explosive.

188 Jordan Zilbar Strawberry Crest LB 2016 5’8.5 180 – Not as athletic as the two LBs mention above. Comparable with his technique and understanding of the position versus the pass. Battled in 1 on 1s and pass pro. Super competitive and took coaching well.
