Hawks defensive tackle Shelldon Lewinson confirmed via message that Western Michigan University offered him a football scholarship.  Lewinson, a rising senior, is 6′ 2″ and 237 pounds.  He kept improving last year and had one of his best games in the state final against Lincoln.

Lewinson is an interior lineman that uses strength and smarts but relies mostly on his superior quickness.  Teammate and FBS talent Cody Waldrop told me Lewinson is one of the best he’s practiced against in his career at Armwood.

Western Michigan has been active at Armwood lately.  After swooping in to pick up senior WR A.J. King when he was rejected by Purdue and Iowa State, they have offered a few Hawks while enhancing their reputation with head coach Sean Callahan.
