Armwood Prospects clash, no love lost

Leon McQuay and Alvin Bailey clash during "Thud" Drill
Leon McQuay and Alvin Bailey clash during "Thud" Drill

Alvin Bailey WR 2013 5-11 178
#3 Player in Tampa Bay for all the right reasons. Alvin killed during one on ones. He smashed during the full contact drills and he led the way during individuals. A fantastic route runner, which he has not always been. He has learned how to use his body and create separation. Oh, and he will still out run a defender.

Darryl Richardson QB 2013 6-5 230
As Armwood started practice with their “Thud Drill”, Richardson was in the thick of things. Matter of fact, “D Rich” took on the County’s top safety, Leon McQuay in a head to head battle. To me, it showed character that the starting QB wanted to be involved in a full contact drill and line up vs. one of the best players in the Country. Scary how good this kid could be. His mechanics have improved and I was really impressed with his set up and delivery.

Leon McQuay III S 2013 6-2 180
A stallion. Not much to say here except, Leon was Leon. Everything you may have read about him is true. Quick feet, loose hips and exceptionally athletic.

Kyron Miles TE 2013 6-3 235
You may not have known that Myles holds an offer from Louisville. He is a punishing blocker and has soft hands.

Marcus Jacobs ILB 2013 6-2 215
The most surprising prospect on the field. Not a big name, but brought the pain! During inside run, Jacobs was a monster. Attacking the gaps and filling the holes as if each snap was his last. Armwood is accustomed to having great inside LBs and Jacobs has the potential to be a really good run stopper.

Kyle Gibson S 2014 6-1 165
It’s no wonder Gibson has such early attention and a few BCS offers. We have Gibson listed at 6-1, but he may be 6-2 and still growing. He is feisty and has good speed. I would not say he is a cover safety, but he can cover.

Byron Cowart DE 2015 6-5 255
Then there is the beast of the East. Just a freshman, Cowart is a sight to be seen. Every scout that attended practice yesterday asked me about him. When I told them, that he was just a freshman, jaws dropped.
