Armwood’s defense was swarming. Five or six Hawks surrounded Gladiator ball carriers on each carry. QB, Patrick Jones was never comfortable in the pocket or out of it. He was 1/5 passing for 1 yard. If he didn’t get the ball off, the Hawk defense was feeding on him in the backfield.

Armwood would start their next possession at the Gladiator 43 yard line. On first down, Richardson found a streaking Alvin Bailey for a 43 yard TD. After scoring, It looked as if Bailey did the University of Florida “Gator Chomp” in celebration. Gators are one of his top schools on his recruiting list. The Hawks would score again on a 5 yard run by Ronnie Cohen and a blocked punt by Leon McQuay returned for a TD.

Gibbs average starting field position was their own 17 yard line. They never crossed the 50 yard line and only had 8 plays for positive yards. Zacari Gibbons moved the ball some late in the second quarter for the Gladiators. He finished the game with 28 yards on 3 carries. Gibbs finished the game with 16 total yards of offense while Armwood totaled 110 of their own, starting all of their offensive possession in Gibbs territory.

Alvin Bailey led all receivers with 2 receptions for 51 yards a score. Darryl Richardson finished 5/7 for 100 yards and 2TD passes. Caylon Holloway: 33 total yards, 2 TDs. Armwood will host Brandon next week.
