HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY PINELLAS COUNTY RECRUITING THE BOX

Appreciated and Underratted

Jordan Rich-Rogers, Tampa Catholic, RB, 2013
When the conversation about Tampa Bay’s top running backs is discussed, many other names are tossed around other than Tampa Catholics, Jordan Rich-Rogers. Ask any Tampa Catholic fan and they will tells you that the Crusader offense goes as Rich-Rogers goes. TC does a good job with ball distribution between their two top ball carries in Rich-Rogers and Trevor Register. Prior to the CCC game, Rich-Rogers had 46 carries and Register with 37 carries. The stout, tough and rugged Rich-Rogers has 440 yards to date on 66 carries. That is a 6.7 yard per carry average. Rarely will one defender be able to take him down and never will he not have an impact on the outcome of the game.

Alvin Bailey, Armwood, ATH, 2013
Armwood is stacked with talent, undefeated and on a collision course with Plant towards the end of the season. As much attention as the Hawks receive, there is still one player who does not receive the credit he deserves. Alvin Bailey could possibly be the most dynamic player on the Armwood 2011 team loaded with college prospects. After the Sickles game (most recent), Bailey is 20 of 30 passing (67% ), 414 yards passing and 5TDs. Most impressive, he is not a QB, but filling in the role for injured Darryl Richardson. On the ground, his numbers are not eye popping, but he makes the plays at the right time; 35 rushes for 388 yards, 9receptions for 188 yards. In his last 2 games vs Jefferson and Sickles, Bailey has 419 yards of total offense not including kick off returns.

Ethan Thompson, Clearwater Central Catholic, ILB, 2014
Harris, Miles, Tate, Sanders and Maughn are probably some of the names that come to mind when talking about inside line backers in Tampa Bay. But, Ethan Thompson is a one man wrecking crew. Through 3 games, Thompson has racked up 18 solo tackles and 32 total tackles. In the contest against Tampa Catholic, the 2014 LB was all over the field. Any tackle there was to be made, he was there. His motor just would not stop and he was where ever the ball was.
