AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE WEEKLY FOOTBALL HONORS

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly football honors for Week 3 of the college football season.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Riley Ferguson • Sr. • QB • Memphis • Matthews, N.C.
Also chosen as the Walter Camp national offensive player of the week, Ferguson completed 23 of 38 passes for 398 yards and six touchdowns to lead Memphis to a 48-45 win against No. 25 UCLA. He threw four TD passes in the first half and threw the game-winning touchdown pass in the fourth quarter after UCLA had taken the lead.

DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Malik Clements • Jr. • S • Cincinnati • Danville, Va.
Clements scored the game-winning touchdown on a 14-yard interception return with 1:07 left to give Cincinnati a 21-17 victory against Miami (Ohio), keeping the Victory Bell with the Bearcats for the 12th straight year. Clements also had seven tackles against the RedHawks.

Quincy Roche • Fr. • DE • Temple • Randallstown, Md.
Roche made eight tackles, with 4.0 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery which set up a Temple touchdown in the Owls’ 29-21 win against Massachusetts.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Dane Roy • So. • P • Houston • Bunyip, Australia
Roy helped Houston win the field position battle in a 38-3 victory against Rice as he averaged 40.3 yards on three punts, dropping all three inside the 20, and forcing two fair catches with no returns.

HONOR ROLL
Kyle Allen • Jr. • QB • Houston • Scottsdale, Ariz.
Completed 31 of 33 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-3 win against Rice.

Anthony Miller • Sr. • WR • Memphis • Memphis, Tenn.
Had nine receptions for 185 yards and two touchdowns in a 48-45 win against No. 25 UCLA.

Quinton Flowers • Sr. • QB • USF • Miami, Fla.
Threw for 280 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 106 yards and a TD in a 47-23 win against Illinois.

Logan Marchi • So. • QB • Temple • Bristol, Conn.
Threw for 248 yards and three touchdowns in a 29-21 win against Massachusetts.

Shamari Brooks • Fr. • RB • Tulsa • Tulsa, Okla.
Rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns in a 54-51 loss at Toledo.
