Alvin Bailey finished up his junior campaign with an exclamation point. A 6A state championship ring will soon be on his finger, as well as all the entire Hawks team.

Bailey led the Hawks offensively, like he has all year. He played quarterback, wide receiver and lined up at running back. He finished the day with 206 total yards and 3 touchdowns.

Alvin Bailey 2011 6A state final stats:

Rushing: 9 carries – 39 yards
Passing: 6-for-7 – 139 yards 2 TD
Receiving: 2 receptions – 28 yards 1TD

“We state champs; that’s it, we’re just state champs,” Bailey said.

The Hawks threw everything at a talented Central defense. There were no limits to the amount of trickery they were willing to pull.

“Coach Evan said we just had to leave everything out on the field man so that’s what we did,” he said. “We practiced them a little bit this week, but we just knew when we called them in the game they had to work.”
