Berkeley Prep’s, 5 Star ATH, Nelson Agholor is the only Bay Area Prospect that will be participating in the Nike’s newest training competition, “The Opening”. Agholor who was ranked the top player by BCP staff on the 2011 Spring Fire 49 ranking, has numerous verbal scholarship offers and has been performing well at a few spring/summer showcases.  Below is a description of “The Opening”.

Some of the country’s elite prospects will be part of Nike’s newest training competition, The Opening, which is designed to give student-athletes the training and knowledge to develop their speed, explosiveness and position skills. The event, which will be held in Beaverton, Ore., will bring together top performers from 12 Nike Football Training Camps (NFTC), combined with other top prospects — all battling for the chance to claim ultimate bragging rights.

Every position and every aspect of the game will be highlighted over the course of the five-day program (July 5-9) with players being put to the ultimate test by the world’s top athletes and coaches. Nike will ultimately crown winners for the Nike 7ON tournament, Nike Linemen Challenge and SPARQ Rating National Championship.
