A.J. King Finally Gets Reward, Will Sign LOI To Western Michigan

Senior Hawks WR A.J. King will be catching footballs at Western Michigan University next fall.  He landed a scholarship offer from the Broncos just before signing day.  It came shortly after it was reported that Purdue University pulled theirs because of a treatment on King’s injured knee that didn’t coincide with their doctors’ recommendations.  In the meantime, King has spent a couple of weekends bringing his test scores into alignment with required standards.

“After what A.J. has been through, I’m really happy for him,” Callahan said. “And I’m very appreciative of (Western Michigan) coach (Bill) Cubit staying true to his word. It’s really refreshing to work with a college coach who does what he says and this is going to establish a good relationship between Armwood and Western Michigan.”  Callahan said he is holding a signing ceremony for King and Hawks fullback Kyle Wilcox, who recently made a commitment to Ivy League champion Penn, on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the team’s field house.
