FHSAAThe FHSAA is pleased to announce that 12 of the 15 venues awarded top honors for hosting state championship events are under contract. The sports, venue/host and expiration dates are listed below.

Basketball (Boys & Girls) – The Lakeland Center – expires 6/30/13
Bowling – Boardwalk Bowl/East River High School – expires 6/30/14
Cross Country – Little Everglades/Little Everglades Steeplechase Foundation, Inc. – expires 6/30/13
Flag Football – Gene Cox Stadium/Leon County – expires 6/30/14
Football – Citrus Bowl/Central Florida Sports Commission – expires 6/30/14
Golf – Mission Inn & surrounding courses/Central Florida Sports Commission – expires 6/30/13
Swimming – YMCA Aquatic Center – expires 6/30/14
Tennis – Sanlando Park, Red Bug Lake Park, Sylvan Kale Park, Lake Brantley HS/Central Florida Sports Commission – expires 6/30/13
Track – Hodges Stadium/University of North Florida – expires 6/30/13
Volleyball (Girls) – Silver Spurs Arena/Kissimmee Convention and Visitors Bureau – expires 6/30/13
Volleyball (Boys) – Silver Spurs Arena/Kissimmee Convention and Visitors Bureau – expires 6/30/13
Wrestling – The Lakeland Center – expires 6/30/14

Three more venues have been extended contracts and negotiations are currently taking place. That list includes softball (National Training Center, Clermont), lacrosse (West Orange High School, Winter Garden), and water polo (Ransom Everglades High School, Miami).

The sports of baseball, soccer (girls and boys) and weightlifting (girls and boys) are in the final year of their contracts and RFPs for those championship venues will be released between January and April of 2012.
