Sumner High School Basketball: Built for the Moment Under Head Coach Danny Gaddis

The postseason is here, and for Sumner High School Basketball, it’s simple: win and advance. Lose and go home.

As Head Coach Danny Gaddis put it best heading into Saturday’s Regional Quarterfinal matchup against Lehigh Acres:

“We’ve dealt with a lot of injuries on the back nine of the season, but no excuses. We’re playing with house money. No one expects anything from us. Game on.”

That mindset says everything about this group. Battle-tested. Overlooked. Dangerous.

Despite injuries and adversity late in the season, the Stingrays are leaning on impact seniors and rising juniors who have delivered all year long.

Senior Leadership Setting the Tone

Devin Houston (#25) – The Anchor

The senior center has been a defensive force in District 7A-11. Houston’s presence in the paint changes games.

Houston’s shot deterrence and rim protection anchor Sumner defensively. He doesn’t just block shots—he alters game plans.

Anson’s ability to distribute and defend makes him the engine of this team. When the game speeds up, he thrives.

Junior Core: The Present and the Future

Immanuel “E-Man” Kelly (#5) – The Playmaker

Kelly impacts every stat column and leads the district in steals.

Miles Moore (#15) – The X-Factor

Moore has battled knee issues and missed the last four games, but he’ll give everything he can in the Regional Quarterfinal.

Smooth. Physical. Efficient.

Part of Coach Gaddis’ “Twin Towers,” Moore dominates the paint with mid-range touch and relentless putbacks.

Season Averages:

For Sumner High School Basketball, the formula is simple: defend, rebound, share the ball, and compete like everything is on the line—because it is.
