Plant City running back, Dazmond Patterson has a 9:50 sec HILITE FILM packed with rushing TDs, side steps, stiff arms and lots of Razzle Dazzle. However, being a back to back 1K rusher in Hillsborough County still does not seem like enough for college recruiters to show Patterson more attention. The 5-8/180lbs Plant City, senior running back will compete to end his senior campaign as the 2011 rushing leader while at the same time, attempt to carry the Raiders to a state football title.

BCP: Where should Plant City rank in the Top 25 between Hillsborough and Pinellas County when the BCP preseason rankings drop?
PATTERSON: #1

BCP: How have the seniors approached this season, never have defeated Newsome?
PATTERSON: With a chip on our shoulder. We gotta win. We gotta bet them. Newsome and Brandon; we gotta beat ‘em.

BCP: After a shutout lose to Armwood in the spring, is Plant City over hyped?
PATTERSON: We used it as a learning experience. I wish we could play Armwood again to be honest with you.

BCP: How competitive is the PC secondary as individuals? Do you guys compete against each other?
PATTERSON: Extremely competitive.

BCP: What areas of your game need to be developed to become an elite player?
PATTERSON: I have working on my breakaway speed. But I need to improve my endurance, especially since I am playing both ways now; I need to be in top shape.

BCP: What verbal scholarship offers do you have and which ones do you want?
PATTERSON: Jacksonville University and Ohio University. I would like to have Miami, Duke, Notre Dame, FIU, and FAU. I want some Florida schools, but I want to have options [leave the state].

BCP: Which schools/coaches impressed you during the recruiting month of May?
PATTERSON: Coach from Navy. When he told me about their program, I was really impressed. When I attended USF’s practice that really impressed me.

BCP: When did you realize that your size and ability could possibly provide you with the opportunity to receive a full athletic scholarship?
PATTERSON: When I was in middle school and the current Plant City players were telling me ‘I think the coaches are going to put you on varsity’. I started working harder then.

BCP: Do you feel as though you are overlooked as a prospect?
PATTERSON: Very much! I sometimes don’t understand and get aggravated, why I don’t have offers. I feel like I’m doing everything everybody else is doing and some.

BCP: What official visits do you plan on taking and when?
PATTERSON: I have none planned yet. I haven’t talked to that many people.
