The FHSAA released the new classifications and districts this morning for just this 2021 season, and the Bay Area is in for a real treat it appears. Along with several schools moving up or down a class, there are a few more teams leaving the region or Independent or even SSAC play and coming back to the fold in that form. The bigger picture is that a two-year reclassification and redistricting will take place for the 2022-2023 seasons allowing the state of Florida to align their scheduling of contracts with the states of Alabama and Georgia to name a few. This could open the door for potential home-and-home matchups that would garner national attention or significant in-state attention from a coverage standpoint on top of the value of seeing elite matchups in our own backyard and beyond.
