Great movement in the pocket by Northeast QB Keon Gulley. As he escaped towards the sideline a teammate of his tosses a big block to spring Gulley for a few more yards. The contact is entertaining and a great football play. Looks clean as the contact was not in the back. But was it a blindside block?
NFHS now deems as a 15 yard penalty: The definition of a blindside block established by the committee is “a block against an opponent other than the runner, who does not see the blocker approaching,” and now results in a 15-yard penalty.
