HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY RECRUITING

Prospect Spotlight – Sam Skinner, Bloomingdale

The Bulls were just 1-9 last season after finishing the pervious season 9-2, but they’ve still got talent on their roster that should give plenty of folks in Valrico reason to be excited for the upcoming year. Defensive End/Tight End Sam Skinner (6-3/225) is one of those players on the roster that fits this description.

Last season, Skinner hit career highs in tackles and in sacks with 72 and 7.5 respectively giving him 146 and 17 for his time at Bloomingdale. Skinner has been working relentlessly on his defensive skill-set and has been working at camps at the position with success since we can remember seeing him in action through his years at the school.

This past season also showcased something else that Skinner has up his sleeve–and that’s a skill-set on the offensive side of the ball. Skinner caught nine passes for 153 yards for the Bulls and worked out at the tight end position at Ignite and was holding his own quite nicely.

Combine Skinner’s tenacity/skills on defense playing at either the defensive end or the linebacker position with his foundation for growth at the tight end position–plus that frame of his–and you’ve got yourself an enticing prospect on your hands.
