We’ve got plenty of teams feeling like they’ve seen this movie before–and recently. Statewide this week there are 25 district rematches taking place including the five that our in our local coverage area. We breakdown what’s at stake for these teams beyond just this week–plus give you all of the others statewide that will be taking place. It’s always tough the second time around–so are there some upsets in the making?

Victory Christian at Foundation Academy (2A-4)
The Storm travel to Winter Garden to face Foundation–who handed VCA a 34-28 loss in OT on October the 16th. Winner of this game gets the winner of Jacksonville’s University Christian and Tallahassee’s North Florida Christian. Winner also travels regardless since Regions 1 and 3 are your designated hosts for the 2A Semis.

Jefferson at Jesuit (5A-10)
The Dragons gave the Tigers one of their toughest games of the season losing by just a touchdown 21-14 and come into this match hot. Winner of this game gets the winner of Immokalee at Dunbar in a district rematch of its own. The Dragons or the Tigers (if they make it to the stage) would host a State Semifinal game since Region 3 is a designated host in Class 5A.

Brandon at Armwood (6A-7)
The Hawks defeated the Eagles 35-19 on October 16th. If the Eagles pull the upset, they’ll host the 6A-Region 2 Finals against either Ocala-Vanguard or Gainesville. Armwood travels to Ocala if Vanguard wins, but hosts Gainesville by virtue of the runners-up/champions status–Brandon or Armwood would eventually host the State Semifinals since Region 2 is a designated host this year in Class 6A.

Tampa Bay Tech at Plant City (7A-9)
Plant City defeated TBT 19-3 on October 2nd–winner gets the survivor of Braden River-Venice. If TBT wins and Venice wins–the Titans host. A Titans victory and a Braden River victory means TBT travels for the Regional Finals. Region 3 are your state semifinals hosts regardless of district runner-up/champion status.

Venice at Braden River (7A-11)
The Pirates defeated Venice 30-20 on October 16th–winner gets the winner of Tampa Bay Tech at Plant City. If Venice wins–they’ll travel to TBT or Plant City. If Braden River wins and Plant City wins–the Raiders host the Pirates. If TBT wins and Braden River wins, the Pirates will host the Titans.
