Alabama QB, Phillip Ely departed Plant High at the end of the this school year’s 1st semester in order to start the learning process of being a college student and Crimson Tide QB. Ely was a 2010 preseason Alabama commit and fulfilled his high school graduation requirements allowing him to enroll at the University of Alabama at the start of the 2011 Spring semester. Izzy Gould, Alabama football reporter told BCP via text “He [Phillip Ely] is still going through the learning stages, forth string. Saban said he’s a hard worker and is doing fine.” Ely is one of the winningest QBs in Hillsborough County history and many Bay Area football fans do not mention him when speaking of the best. But if things go for Ely as they did in high school, much success will come and the Tide will roll.
