HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY

Moore Better

Earl Moore, Hillsborough, DE, Class 2012

Hillsborough County has had its fair share of stud defensive lineman. Some have gone on to make some noise at the collegiate level.  Some will go down as high school legends that could never get it right in college.  But what about this year’s ‘cream of the crop’ defensive linemen?  Jefferson’s, Tyriq McCord is a rangy monster with a tremendous get off , speed and excellent classroom work ethic.  Lakewood’s, Dante’ Fowler show a resemblance of a young Reggie White with fast hands and a powerful lower frame.  Then there is Hillsborough’s, Earl Moore.  The soft spoken, bruiser in the middle of the Hillsborough 3-4 defensive line that just “gets the job done.”  In 2010, Moore totaled 63 total tackles and 1 sack.  To the football fans, those numbers don’t jump off the page to you.  But, to the college recruiters, they scream double team.  As a defensive lineman, you beg for one on one match-ups.  But for Moore, those never came.  He was constantly double teamed and blocked low in an attempt not to let him disrupt the play.  In the video clip below, Moore talks about his frustrations, his rivals and his character.
