White lights up the night in home opener

Durant defeated Riverview 62-52 tonight in a game where the big name players, made big plays. Durant jumped out early on the undersized Sharks. Pushing the ball up the court and scoring quickly with their superior speed and and slightly larger line up.

Kyle White, Durant 2013 G and BCP/Bay Area Hoops Breakdown MVP had the hot hand early. He was nearly unstoppable, made his first 4 of 5 buckets and ended the night unofficially 8 of 17 from the field for a total of 23 points. White attacked the rim inside and out. Worked the center of the defense and even showed an effective post game. He got to the paint at will and drew multiple fouls to hit 9 of his 23 point from the stripe.

Trent Robertson, Durant 2013 G also added to the point total. 13 unofficial points and 1 assist for the night. Trent handled the ball really well and became the go to guy once Riverview made their third quarter run.

Riverview’s 3rd quarter run brought the game within 7 points early in the 4th quarter. The Shark’s applied an effective full court press and forced Durant to shoot low percentage perimeter shots.

Durant proved to be too much. The Cougars had 8 different scorers including Jesse Coker, Terrence Mcgee and Josh King, who all contributed late in the game.
